Lithology and Thickness
The lower part of the formation is dominated by grey-green marl, calcareous siltstone and calcareous slate. Upward the micro-laminated marl increases. The upper part is composed of interbedded grey-green and weathered pale-blue marl, metamorphosed andesite, crystal tuff, andesite tuffite and tuffaceous sericite slate, constituting a rhythmic interbedding, with the marl increasing gradually in the top part. Sometimes lenticular or vein-shape iron ore deposits and Fe-Mn deposits occur in the upper and lower parts of the formation. The thickness varies from 151 m to 216 m.
